PURPOSE:To improve the slip designing efficiency by shifting collectively graphics and character strings already displayed within a slip by the same distance or copying collectively them to the desired positions. CONSTITUTION:When patterns and character strings are shifted within a slip 100, these patterns and strings displayed in the slip 100 are designated. A reference point 120P1 (x1, y1) is supplied into the slip 100 together with a designated point 121P2 (x2, y2). Thus the distance is automatically calculated between a reference point P1 (x1, y1) and a designated point P2 (x2, y2) as X1=x2-x1 and Y1=y2-y1. Thus the moving positions are obtained for those patterns and character strings. Then a reference point 101Q1 of these patterns and character strings is moved to the obtained position. Then the patterns and character strings corresponding to a reference point Q1 are also moved in the same way and displayed within the slip 100. Thus the operation is completed.
