<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a turbine from running at an overspeed by consuming the power of a turbine generator by a resistor when power cannot be transmitted through a stationary frequency converter to a power system. CONSTITUTION:The output voltage of a generator 18 is applied through an output line 42 to the rectifier 26 of a stationary frequency converter. A gate controller 50 outputs a gate signal that a thyristor rectifier 46 is always turned ON. When power cannot be transmitted due to a separately-excited thyristor inverter owing to a commutation failure, the controller 50 turns OFF a gate pulse. Thus, the rectifier 46 is turned OFF to connect a resistor 48 with the output line 42. Thus, it can prevent a turbine generator from running at an overspeed.</p> |
