PURPOSE:To improve the pitting corrosion resistance by specifying the amount of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Ni, Mo, N and Fe. CONSTITUTION:This two-phase stainless steel has a composition consisting of <=0.05% C, <=2% Si, <=2% Mn, <=0.02% P, <=0.01% S, 20-28% Cr, 2-10% Ni, 1-5% Mo, <=0.4% N and the balance Fe. In the composition, the amounts of Cr, Mo and N satisfy relation represented by a formula Cr/(0.015f+1)+3Mo /(0.007f+1)+16N/(1-0.009f)>=34.5 (where f=-26.6+5.592Cr-7.133Ni+2.381Mo +14.97Si-3.139Mn+299.6C-133.8N).
