PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous ignition in an erroneous cylinder by alternately judging the crank angle standard signals in two systems in a cylinder distribution circuit and judging the drop of signals when the crank angle signals of two systems are not generated alternately and carrying out the prescribed processings. CONSTITUTION:Advance angle closing angle calculation circuits 30 and 40 for the first and third cylinders and for the second and fourth cylinders into which each output signal A-C of a cylinder discriminating sensor 1, crank sensor for the first and third cylinders, and a crank sensor 3 for the second and fourth cylinders is input through wave-form shaping circuits 10-12 are installed. Further, a cylinder distribution circuit 20 into which each output signal A-C is input is arranged. In said cylinder distribution circuit 20, the crank angle standard position signals B and C are level- judged alternately, and the drop of the crank signal corresponding to the detection priority in the level judgement of each signal B, C is detected. When the drop of the crank signal is detected, the reverse level detection is carried out, and the processing for the crank signal which includes the synchronizing processing for the transfer to the next processing is carried out.
