The invention relates to an electrical plug device, such as a plug or coupling plug socket, which has a strain-relief device. In order to improve and simplify the connection of the lead to the strain relief device, the strain relief device (16) is constructed like a vice or clamp and has a stationary jaw (17) and a moving jaw (19) which can be displaced with respect to the stationary jaw (17) by means of a tightening screw (20), which is used as a spindle, and clamps the connecting lead in between the stationary and loose jaws (17, 19).
