PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition of low viscosity, outstanding in curing characteristics, not requiring any diluent which may impair the physical properties of the coating film therefrom, essentially comprising a liquid epoxy resin of specific formula having an equivalent ratio of epoxy to hydrolyzable halogen of specified value. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition essentially comprising a liquid epoxy resin (optimally with a viscosity ca. 2,500-5,000cps) of formula [X is residue resulted from elimination of H from the hydroxyl group in 1,1-bis(hydroxyphenyl) ethane; n is number of recurring units] with a value expressed by formula AXB/(A+B) [where, A denotes epoxy equivalent, B hydrolyzable halogen equivalent (optimally >=10,000)] falling between 170 and 190.
