PURPOSE:To make the thickness of noble metallic powder deposited uniform and to obtain a uniform film thickness by irradiating laser beams on noble metallic powder deposited in a groove in a copper-base member to coat the member with the noble metal. CONSTITUTION:The part of a copper-base member 7 to be coated with a noble metal is grooved 7a. Noble metallic powder 8 is fed to the resulting groove 7a and the surface of the fed powder 8 is made flat. Laser beams 1a are then projected on the flat part to be coated. Thus, the thickness of noble metallic powder deposited is made always uniform and the member is coated with a noble metallic film of a uniform thickness.
