PURPOSE:To obtain a dot image high in green-sensitivity and contrast even in the case of comparatively rapid development and to extremely reduce dye stains occurring after processing by incorporating a specified compound in silver halide grains contained in a hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide grains contained in the hydrophilic colloidal layer contains the compound represented by formula I and the compound represented by formula II generally both in an amount of 1X10<-4>-1X10<-3>mol per mol of silver halide and, preferably, in a I/II weight ratio of 1:3-3:1, and said grains are spectrally sensitized with the compound represented by formula I. In these formulae, Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form a naphthoxazole ring; R<1> is optionally substituted alkyl; R<2> is halogenated alkoxycarbonyl or the like; and n is an integer of 1-4. |
