PURPOSE:To improve the magnetic field intensity inside a deflection yoke, and to make it possible to obtain a sufficient deflecting magnetic field even though slits are furnished at metallic magnetic members, by furnishing a magnetic member with a permeability and a saturation magnetization higher than those of a plastic core at least at the inner side or the outer side of the plastic core around the whole periphery. CONSTITUTION:This deflection yoke has a vertical deflecting coil and a horizontal deflecting coil in a saddle form, and the core of the deflection yoke is composed of a plastic mould core consisting of a soft magnetic material powder 94 to 99 wt% and a hardening organic binder 6 to 1 wt%. At least at one side either the outside or the inner side of the deflection yoke core, a magnetic member with a higher permeability and a higher saturation magnetization than the deflection yoke core is applied around the whole periphery. The height of the magnetic member is made at least half the height of the deflection yoke core or higher, and the thickness is made between 0.1 and 3.0 mm. The available metallic magnetic material may be electromagnetic soft iron, Fe-Si alloy, Permalloy alloy, and amorphous soft magnetic alloy, for example.
