PURPOSE:To execute complicated graphic processing by simple operation by setting and changing grid spacing and inclination arbitrarily according to object of drawing of a graphic. CONSTITUTION:When a command for grid display indication is received from a command inputting device 11, a grid display controlling section 12 sets display position of the grid anew, and rewrites a frame memory 13. That is, the controlling section 12 inputs grid spacing of X axis, grid spacing of Y axis and angle of inclination of X axis, and then inputs an angle made by X axis and Y axis. Then, the section detects areal information such as position of display, size, original point coordinate position in the area of an objective area in which the grid is to be displayed from an area control table. Then, starting point and end point coordinates of a segment strings constituting the direction of X axis and the direction of Y axis are calculated from the input data and areal information. Next, the grid is displayed in the area by respective segment string. By above-mentioned method, setting and changing of grid become easy, and complicated graphic processing is made possible by simple operation.
