<p>Cyclone separator for removing oil from a larger volume of water, comprises three portions (1-3) arranged co-axially adajcent to each other. The first portion (1) has a dia. which decreases towards the intermediate, second portion (2). The first portion includes a tangential feed inlet (8) in the form of a 360 deg. spiral. The relationship between the diameter (d1, d2) and the area of the inlet (8) is precisely defined. The first portion has an axial outlet (10) for sepd. oil, the water phase flowing to an outlet (4) from the third portion (3). In use, the oil-water phases are at a higher pressure than in each outlet.</p> |
