PURPOSE:To heat a succeeding heating material without changing the intended extraction time of the preceding material by heating the respective heating materials according to the extraction pitch time corrected by the extraction pitch change rate determined from the point of the time when the foremost heating material among the heating materials arrives at the extraction pitch change point. CONSTITUTION:The extraction pitch change point A is tentatively set at the inlet position of upper and lower heating zones 6, 7 on the upper stream side of a furnace extraction end 3 on the conveyance route for the heating materials at the time of heating the steel products 10 by a continuous heating furnace 1 to a target temp. and extracting the heated products therefrom. A check point C is tentatively set at the position equidistant from the distance L between the point A and the end 3 on the upper stream side of the furnace charging end 2 on the conveyance route. The extraction pitch change rate of the respective steel products positioned between the check point C and the end 2 is determined on the basis of the time for residence in the furnace necessary for heating the objective steel products 10 to the target temp. when the heating load of the objective steel products 10 passing the point C changes abruptly.
