METHOD FOR PLATING COPPER-BASE MEMBER WITH NOBLE METAL BY MEANS OF LASER

摘要

PURPOSE:To form a uniform coating layer of Ag on the part of the surface of a Cu-base member requiring coating by heating the part, blowing a reducing gas to remove the oxide film, feeding powder of a noble metal such as Ag and irradiating laser beams. CONSTITUTION:A Cu-base metallic member 1 to be coated with Ag is preheated to 300-500 deg.C with a heater 2 and gaseous H2 61 or an inert gas such as Ar contg. gaseous H2 is blown from a reducing gas feeder 6 to reduce the surface oxide. Ag power 3 is then fed to the part of the member 1 to be coated with Ag and laser beams 4 are projected. The fed Ag powder is melted by heating with the laser beams to form an Ag film 5 of a uniform thickness on the part of the surface of the member 1 requiring coating.
