PURPOSE:To obtain an Al-alloy foil for package having high bursting strength and reduced in spring back after forming, by properly specifying the grain size after final annealing in an Al alloy having a specific composition consisting of Fe, Mn, and Al. CONSTITUTION:The Al-alloy foil for package has a composition which consists of, by weight, 0.7-1.8% Fe, 0.1-1.5% Mn, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities and in which average grain size after final annealing is limited to a range 10-50mum. This Al-alloy foil has high bursting strength and, moreover, it is reduced in spring back after forming, so that thinning of foil is enabled and, as a result, cost reduction is made possible. The crystalline structure with the above grain size can be formed by subjecting a slab to homogenizing treatment, hot and cold rollings, process and final annealing, etc., under properly chosen conditions.
