PURPOSE:To excellently straighten a distortion of a deformed wire and to perform the working of uniform products by straightening from two directions or more by plural straightening rollers while giving prescribed back tention to a deforming worked steel wire. CONSTITUTION:The wire 11 is passed through and while giving the back tension by 5-20% of its tensile strength between a brake drum 8 and a winding drum 9, the steel wire is wound in a winding drum 9. In such manner, the steel wire 11 is fitted in a groove 5 of a grooved roller 6 constituting the straightening roller 4 to hold the opposed side by a presser roller 7. Then, in this condition, the steel wire is bending worked from the upper, lower, right and left sides by two pairs of roller groups 2, 3 while being restricted to be straightened. In this way, the distortion of the deformed wire is excellently straightened to perform the working of the uniform products.
