PURPOSE:To improve the service properties by registering a message in case a called subscriber is absent and therefore informing the message information to a calling subscriber from the called subscriber. CONSTITUTION:The necessary information is registered to a front part 17 or an operator attendant board part 18 from an extension 1 to be called in case a called subscriber is out or the call is inhibited. If a call is received from a calling extension 2, the reference is given to a message register table 7 and the message register information if detected is transferred to an attendant board 4. Then the message information on an extension corresponding message register table 9 is displayed on a display device 13. The part 18 refers to said displayed message information to inform the reason for absence or the expected present time points, etc. of the called subscriber to the extension 2 or transfer this information to an outside extension. While the call is connected to the extension 1 if no message register information is available.
