PURPOSE:To improve the mechanical strength and wear resistance by sintering Al alloy powder contg. specified amounts of Si and Cu, Mg, Ni or the like so that the resulting sintered alloy has a restricted density and a restricted grain size of Si. CONSTITUTION:Al alloy powder contg. 8-30wt% Si or further contg. 0.1-10wt% one or more among Cu, Mg, Ni, Fe and Mn is sintered to obtain a wear resistant Al alloy of high strength. This alloy has 90% density (to the true density) and <=10mum maximum grain size of Si.
