PURPOSE:To reduce max. power consumption by smoothing the total power of the currents supplied to both resistors, by comparing reference density data corresponding to odd number-th and even number-th heat generating resistors with input image data to be transferred and forming variable density data showing the time of a current made to flow at every one unit of density to control the supply of a current. CONSTITUTION:Reference density data corresponding to odd number-th and even number-th heat generating resistors among a large number of heat generating resistors R1-Rn are separated so as to mutually come to complement relation of 1. A control apparatus is constituted of a data selection means 16 for synthesizing said data to output the same and a means 7 comparing outputted reference density data with input image data to be transferred to form variable density data showing the time of the current made to flow to one row consisting of a large number of the heat generating resistors R1-Rn at every one unit of density and control data is sent to a shift register 9 to control current supply. Therefore, total power can be smoothed by the supply of a current to odd number-th and even number-th heat generating resistors R1nRn and the max. power consumption can be reduced to a large extent. |
