PURPOSE:To obtain a constant temperature type crystal oscillator suitable for miniaturization whose rising characteristic is excellent by forming a vibration and heating electrode exciting vibration and causing heat to the major board face of the piezoelectric board and supplying power to said vibration and heat electrode independently of the excitation of the piezoelectric board. CONSTITUTION:A power supply circuit 24 is provided between terminals 20a and 20c of the vibration and heat electrode 18 comprising a heater whose mate rial is nichrome and a high frequency choke coil 25 is provided between the terminal 20c and the power supply circuit 24. An oscillation circuit 26 exciting the crystal board 15 is provided between the terminal 20a and a terminal 20b, and a high pass capacitor 27 for the DC component is inserted between the terminal 20b and the oscillation circuit 26. A Joule heat is generated in the electrode 18 by the power supply circuit 24 and the heat is supplied directly to the crystal board 15. Since the heater is added directly to the crystal board 15 as the vibration and heat electrode 18, the heat is effectively utilized, the rising characteristic is improved and the power consumption is reduced.
