PURPOSE:To prevent mode hopping noise, by reducing the level of an analogue signal for driving a laser diode at frequency corresponding to one pixel on an image within a short time. CONSTITUTION:In a laser printer wherein an analogue signal 1 is subjected to pulse modulation and the modulated signal is inputted to a laser diode (LD) driving circuit 2 and the laser beam 4 emitted from LD is split into transmitted beam 6 and reflected beam 7 by a splitter 5, the level of the above mentioned analogue signal is reduced at frequency corresponding to one pixel on an image within a short time. The level being reduced is set to the one at least corresponding to a power one half the max. rated power of LD, or less. |
