PURPOSE:To perform wide-range monitoring operation by monitoring abnormality by using a television camera, a sound collecting microphone, and a detecting means which takes a noncontacting measurement such as an ultrasonic wave collecting microphone. CONSTITUTION:The signal of the infrared television camera 4 is sent to the 1st computing element 8 to calculate the temperature of each picture element and if a value larger than the permitted temperature of electric power equipment, terminal, or power line is found, a decision device 15 decides abnormality. If an insulator has a local crack, a corona tone increases owing to the crack and is collected by the sound collecting microphone 6 or ultrasonic wave collecting microphone 7 set in the same direction with the camera 4 and its signal is also processed by the 2nd and the 3rd computing elements 9 and 11 to extract a specific frequency component, thereby removing noises. An ultrasonic wave signal is converted into audible tone through the envelope detection of an envelope detector 10, and then a monitor signal is led out from a monitor speaker connection terminal 13. Those signals are sent to the decision device 15 to decide whether or not the operation state of the equipment is normal.
