PURPOSE:To minimize dead space and improve efficiency of a stirling engine by separating the passages where tha low and high temperature side liquids of a regenerative heat exchanger pass through and by providing space filling-up valves which have a function of non-return valve in the passages. CONSTITUTION:Liquid passage spaces 2 formed by heat exchanger fins 1 are made to have a cross section of a V and an inverse V shape and are connected to a cooler in the direction of arrow 5, and to a heater in the direction of arrow 6. The passage spaces of the V and inverse V shape are provided with valves 3, 4 which are so designed as to be removably inserted and to have a size and volume to fill up each passage space and also have the function of non-return valve. The high temperature liquid pushes the valve 3 to the direction of arrow 7 to open the space and the valve 4 serves as a non-return valve at that time. The low temperature liquid passes through the valve 4 and the passage spaces 2 are almost filled up by the valves 3 and 4. |
