PURPOSE:To permit printing with improved transfer efficiency and printing quality by specifying the heat capacity of a thermoplastic magnetic recording medium to a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The heat capacity of the thermoplastic magnetic ink 26 of this ink medium 22 is in a range from 50mJ/mg to 100mJ/mg. The ink 26 to be melted by heat energy is not thoroughly thermally melted by the energy and the transfer efficiency to paper 23 to be transferred is considerably decreased if the heat capacity is >=100mJ/mg. The transfer efficiency of the medium 22 with impressed energy is good but the bleeding and blocking by the heat at a room temp. are extremely liable to arise if the heat capacity is <=50mJ/mg. The shelf life of the medium 22 is, consequently, deteriorated. The printing with the improved transfer efficiency and printing quality is, therefore, possible if the heat capacity of the ink 26 is specified in the range from 50mJ/mg to 100mJ/mg.
