PURPOSE:To attain the simplification of constitution and cost reduction, by also using a reset pulse generated one at a time by one rotation of a drum as a color change control signal. CONSTITUTION:When the shaft 18 of a motor is rotated, a type drum 11 rotates through a drive gear 17, an intermediate gear 16 and a follower gear 14. By this operation, a contact piece 13a is contacted with a switch 20 for a reset pulse to generate one reset pulse 20a. In red printing, the signal of the reset pulse 20a acts as the current supply timing of a color changing trigger solenoid 33 and an armature 31 is attracted by the color changing trigger solenoid 33 to be revolved in a clockwise direction. By this mechanism, the hook 31a for black of the armature 31 is separated from the lock part 29b of a ribbon plate 29 and the lock part 29b is engaged with a hook 31b for red and a red ribbon 26b is made to face the type drum 11.
