PURPOSE:To facilitate aligning optical axes and to contrive miniaturization of outside dimensions by using a reflecting film formed on the second end slope of the second optical fiber and a branch film interposed between the first end slope and the third end slope as reflecting face to practically align the optical axis of the second core to that of the first core. CONSTITUTION:The second optical fiber 21 is put on a smooth face 15 of the first optical fiber 11 and is moved to such position that an end face 24 is approximately brought into contact with an end face 34 of the third optical fiber 31, and the second optical fiber 21 is rotated around the axis to easily adjust the end face perpendicular to the plane of the paper. Thereafter, the second optical fiber 21 is moved forward and backward in the axial direction of the first optical fiber 11, thereby using a reflecting film 50 and an interference filter 40 as the reflecting face to easily align the optical axis of a core 22 to that of a core 12. A refractive index matching agent used as an adhesive is packed in the space between the first optical fiber 11 and the second optical fiber 21. |
