PURPOSE:To maintain the efficiency of a compressor at a high value, by a method wherein movement of a casing is controlled by means of the thermal expansion detecting device of a rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:Thermal expansion is detected by a thrust direction position detector 13, and a moving casing 8 is moved leftward through the working of a control device 21 to regulate a gap so that it is always maintained at a proper value. By means of the heat of a rotary shaft 4, thermal expansion is progressed toward the second stage compressor 3 side. Thrust direction position detectors 13 may be mounted to moving casings 7 and 8 to directly detect a vane end gap. This constitution enables a gap between an impeller and a moving casing to be always held at a proper value to perform operation with high efficiency. |
