PURPOSE:To manufacture an Mg alloy having improved castability without reducing the vibration damping capacity or strength by adding a specified percentage of Zr as an essential alloying element and a specified amount of one or more among Cu, Mn and Si to Mg. CONSTITUTION:An Mg alloy consisting of, by weight, 0.4-1.0% Zr as an essential alloying element, one or more among 0.03-0.4% Cu, 0.07-1.5% Mn and 0.1-0.7% Si and the balance Mg with inevitable impurities is manufactured. The Mg alloy for casting has improved castability without reducing the vibration damping capacity or strength.
