PURPOSE:To cool a stator coil having a large calorific value effectively by cooling the stator coil by a coolant through a shroud body having excellent heat transferr from the back. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 3 and a stator coil 11 are cooled by cooling air flowing in a rear bracket 34 by a fan 8. A coolant caused to flow in from an incurrent pipe flows as shown in the arrow in flow paths 35, 36, cools the end section of the stator coil 11 from the back while also cooling a front bracket 33 and a bearing 14, and is permitted to flow out from excurrent pipes 18. Accordingly, the stator coil 11 having a large calorific value is cooled effectively, and the outside diameters of the brackets 33, 34 are not increased even by liquid cooling, thus miniaturizing and lightening the title AC generator.
