PURPOSE:To execute an assembly by only an adhesive agent, and to improve the workability by combining a recessed part which has been provided on the outside periphery of a head part, and a fitting and positioning part which has been formed in the tip of the upper cover part and the lower receiving part, and forming them integrally in one body. CONSTITUTION:A head part 3 is provided with an optical fiber inserting part 32 between polishing chuck parts 33 of both sides having a chuck surface for polishing a connecting end face at the time of assembling a multicore optical connector. The upper and lower parts of the optical fiber inserting part 32 form a recessed part 35 which is positioned by being fitted to fitting and positioning parts 11, 21 of the upper cover part 1 and the lower receiving part 2, and the chuck part 33 is provided with an inserting hole 31 of a guide pin for realizing the positioning at the time of coupling. The rear part of the head part 3 is provided with a housing receiving part 34 which is engaged to head receiving parts 12, 22 of the upper cover part 1 and the lower receiving part 2. At the time of assembling the multicore optical connector, first of all, an adhesive agent is applied to the fitting and positioning part 21 of the lower receiving part 2 and an oblique line part of the head receiving part 22, the recessed part 35 of the lower part of the head part 3 is fitted to the fitting and positioning part 21, and also, a face B of the housing receiving part 34 is engaged to the head receiving part 22, and an assembly is executed.
