PURPOSE:To decrease an execution waiting time of input and output instructions, in case when the input and output instructions are issued in the course of loading, by providing a control device having an interrupting function of a load processing, between a disk device and a cache memory. CONSTITUTION:When input and output instructions are issued to a channel device 3 from a central processor 1, the device 3 fetches a command group from a main storage device 2, and issues a command to a control device 4. The device 4 decodes a command, and executes a data transfer between a cache memory 5 and the device 2, and between a disk device 6 and the device 2, if a requested data exists in the memory 5, and if it does not exist in the memory, respectively. Also, when the requested data does not exist in the memory 5, a data being in the vicinity of an object data is loaded to the memory 5 from the device 6 under a control of the device 4. In the course of such load processing, input and output instructions are issued from the processor 1, and in case the device 4 has decided that it is necessary to intermit the load processing, its input and output instructions are executed by executing an intermission of the loading, and when the processing of the input and output instructions is ended, the load processing is restarted.
