PURPOSE:To improve the recording density of information by implanting ions to an information recording surface when there is a signal to record the information to an information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed metal, for example, lead Pb is packed in an ion source device 8 and a control device 15 is driven by starting an evacuation device 6. Lead ions 8a are then drawn out of the lead packed in the ion source device 8 by driving of an accelerating device 11. The lead ions 8 of good quality in the central part among the lead ions 8a are fed to a focusing device 13 by the 1st and 2nd shields 10, 12 and are implanted in the form of an ion beam 14a focused to the recording layer 2 of the information recording medium 3 by a deflecting electrode device 14 to the recording layer 2 to form recording material 4. The information to be recorded to the information recording medium 3 is recorded with the prescribed number of bits as one unit into the recording layer 2. The recording of the information by implanting the metallic ions at the diameter much smaller than 0.6mum wavelength of light, for example, 0.25mum is thereby executed and therefore, the recording density of the information is improved. |
