PURPOSE:To obtain a cadmium anode having high utilization efficiency by using cadmium obtained by replacement reaction of cadmium salt solution containing indium with zinc powder. CONSTITUTION:Cadmium obtained by replacement reaction of cadmium salt solution with zinc powder is used as metallic cadmium. The perferable content of indium is 0.05-2.00wt.%. Since the atomic number of indium is 49 and that of cadmium is 48, and atomic weight of these metals are similar, cadmium in cadmium crystal is easily replaced by indium atom, and lattice defect of cadmium crystal is created and the crystal is made unstable. Thereby, cadmium is electrochemically activated and utilization efficiency of cadmium is increased. Since the replaced cadmium is created by the reaction of cadmium salt solution including indinm with zinc powder, and indium is uniformly distributed in cadmi um powder, the utilization is increased. |
