Metal blind rivet for rivetting to one or more structural parts, comprising a rivet sleeve with tubular shank and rivet flange and the drawing pin, passing through the rivet sleeve, with predetermined breaking point and set head which, before the setting procedure, projects, together with a considerable part of the shank, out of a bore of the structural part, over the surface thereof as a deformation piece forming the counter-head, the shank being provided with longitudinally directed grooves distributed over the circumference. The grooves extend as an axial ribbing essentially over the length of the shank located within the bore and as far as the region of the edge between bore and surface of the structural part.
