A wheel comprises a cup-shaped pressed-metal disc portion having axially extending land portions 34 which are welded to a sheet metal rim portion. The welds are separate fillet or seam welds 40, 42 arranged in spaced-apart relationship along the axially inboard edges 32 of the land portions 34. The spacing of the welds helps to reduce radial distortion of the wheel in the welding process. <IMAGE>
