PURPOSE:To prevent a windshield wiper from being floated up without entailing any wiper's contact with a vehicular body or the like, by letting tension act on a second spring in parallel with a first spring if a vehicular speed becomes more than the specified value, and adding this tension to that of the first spring. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicular speed sensor detects the specified speed little later than such a speed as causing a floating phenomenon in a wiper, a PTC heater 3 gets heating thermowax 4. Therefore, this thermowax 4 is expanded by heat, pressing a plunger 5, a rod 10, a case 13 and a second plunger 18 to the right, and a spring hook 20 is rotated counterclockwise with a pin 19 as a fulcrum. If so, tension is added to a tension spring 22, added to wiper arm load to be give this load by a tension spring 21, and a floating phenomenon in the wiper is thus prevented from occurring. With this constitution, since the tension spring 22 is not depressed to the side of window glass surface, the wiper is preventable from coming into contact with a vehicular body or the like. |
