POLYOLEFIN RESIN MOLDING HAVING ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITIES AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled molding having excellent antibacterial and antifungal activities, by heat-treating a mixture of a polyolefin resin and specified fine powder of activated zeolite. CONSTITUTION:0.01% (on a dry basis) to a saturation amount of at least one metal (a) having a germicidal activity, selected from among silver, copper, zinc and tin is incorporated in porous zeolite (b) having a high surface area and an ion exchange capacity of not lower than 1meq/g on a dry basis, and the mixture is activated by heating to obtain an activated fine zeolite powder (B) having a water content of not higher than 5% and an average particle size of not larger than 10mum. A polyolefin resin (A) (e.g., PE) is mixed with the component B to obtain a mixture having an antibacterial zeolite content of 0.05% on a dry basis. The mixture is treated at 300 deg.C or lower to disperse the component B in the component A.
