The invention relates to a flow-rate meter having a measuring element, for example an impeller, which can move as a function of the rate of flow of the liquid medium and whose movements can be converted into electric signals which are to be fed to a counter for integrating measurement of the volumetric flow. The moving measurement element (6) is coupled in a moving fashion to at least one control element (7, 16, 22) which is arranged in a liquid medium (5) which is at least weakly electrically conductive and which are assigned electrodes (2, 18) via which it is possible to tap the electric signals used to count the movement. In this case, the control element which is coupled in terms of movement to the measuring element is arranged in such a way or designed in such a way that the value of the electrical resistance which can be measured at the electrodes, or the value of the measurable capacitance can be varied periodically under the influence of the movement of the control element for the purpose of generating the measuring signals. <IMAGE>
