PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a hydraulic driven traveling vehicle, by comparing the preset car speed with the detected one, and selecting shift steps of a geared transmission body according to this compared result and the selected shift step. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid pickup 16 or a detecting device for a car speed is installed in an around the gear 15 attached to an output shaft 14, and output of this solenoid pickup 16 is inputted into a comparator part 18 comparing it with the setting value, out of the comparator part 18 is inputted into a selector control part 19, thereby controlling a solenoid valve 9, which selects shift steps of a transmission system, with each output of the selector control part 19 and a switch 10. With this constitution, even if an operator selects a large shift step, a car speed is not selected to such a shift step as being large in a transmission gear ratio unless it becomes lower than the preset car speed, so that any damage to a hydraulic motor 7 is preventable, and reliability is improved.
