PURPOSE:To improve safety, by additionally providing supply air holes and grooves of suitable shape and depth in the periphery of said supply air holes on a bearing surface so as to increase a load capacity and rigidity. CONSTITUTION:A bearing surface provides supply air holes 1J and forms grooves 3J in the periphery of the supply air holes 1J, and high pressure gas is supplied from supply air flow holes 2J. In this way, the high pressure gas, which is allowed to flow in a shaft side passing through the grooves 3J, is released opening to the atmospheric pressure in a bearing end. Accordingly, a pressure inside the groove obtains an increase of the pressure not so different from the outlet pressure of the supply air hole, and the safety of a bearing can be improved by increasing a load capacity and rigidity.
