PURPOSE:To reduce the iron loss of as iron core as well as to contrive accomplishment of miniaturization and highly efficient operation of the iron core by a method wherein a coil for formation of a DC magnetic field is wound on the iron core in the direction orthogonally intersecting with a primary coil and a secondary coil, and a DC current is applied to these coils. CONSTITUTION:On the iron core 1 on which a primary coil 2 and a secondary coil 3 are wound, a coil 6 to be used for formation of a DC magnetic field is wound in the direction intersecting at right angle with the coils 2 and 3. When an induction machine is used, an AC power source 4 is inputted to the coil 2, and a DC current is applied to the coil 6. As a result, the main magnetic flux generated by the coils 2 and 3 is subjected to deflected magnetization by the generated DC magnetic field. Accordingly, the miniaturization and the highly efficient operation of the iron core can be achieved.
