PURPOSE:To obtain a function separating type photosensitive body constituted of a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer having superior charge transfer capacity, chargeability, and sufficient surface potential even in the case of thin film thickness by forming the charge transfer layer of a specified amorphous carbon film contg. H. CONSTITUTION:A function separating type photosensitive body constituted of a charge generating layer 3 and a charge transfer layer 2 is obtd. by forming the charge transfer layer 2 of amorphous C layer contg. H wherein the ratio (N1:N2) between the number (N1) of C atoms bonded to H and the number (N2) of C atoms not bonded to H among C atoms having unsatd. bond in its chemical structure is regulated to 1:4-1:0.2. When the a-C film is formed as the charge transfer layer 2 and the value of N2 is 4-0.2, more pref. 2-0.5, most pref. 1.25-0.88 setting the value of N1 at 1, it is suitable as charge transfer layer. The a-C film having the value of N1:N2 within this range has >=10<11>OMEGAcm specific resistance and the mobility of carrier >=10<-7>cm<2>/(v.sec), providing thus sufficient charge transfer function. |
