PURPOSE:To apply the brake to the other wheel when one of two brake lines fails as well as to attempt the stabilization of a vehicle by detecting the condition of failure at the time of a brake line failure whereby controlling the driving force transmitting systems of a front and a rear wheel to be directly connected. CONSTITUTION:A two-wheel/four-wheel change-over clutch 45 which transmits driving force directly to front and rear wheels 1a, 1b, 4a, and 4b is provided so as to be controlled by a control 12. And oil pressure in response to the stroke of a brake pedal (14a) footing is applied to each braking means of the front and rear wheels through lines 15a and 15b of two systems so as to assist the braking means. Furthermore, a fault detector 16 is provided in the middle of these lines 15a and 15b for picking up an output signal Sf at the time of failure. If either of lines 15a and 15b fails, a driver is informed of its failure by means of an indicator and the like for having him effected a change-over to two-wheel drive with a reset switch actuated. As a result, a preferable braking operation is positively secured so as to stabilize the behavior of a vehicle. |
