NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R<1> is optionally protected amino group; R<2> is 4--8-membered saturated heterocyclic monocyclic group containing 1 S atom; R<3> is optionally protected carboxy; R<4> is thiadiazolylthiohalogen or tetrahydrotriazinylthio substituted by (lower)alkyl group]. EXAMPLE:Benzhydryl 7-[2-(2-formamidothiazol-4-yl)-2-(3-thietanyloxyimino)aceta- mido]-3-chloromethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate (Z-isomer). USE:An antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:For example, a compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III in a solvent while cooling - at room temperature. The above-mentioned reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of a condensing agent, e.g. Vilsmerier reagent, etc., and, as necessary, a base, e.g. trilower alkylamine, etc.
