PURPOSE:To prevent so-called disturbance of recording in head switching by delaying video signals at the time of switching from a pair of magnetic heads for intermittent recording to a pair of magnetic heads for normal recording. CONSTITUTION:Synchronizing coupling signals outputted from a synchronizing signal generating circuit 6 at the time of switching from intermittent recording to normal recording, are made to such signals that vertical synchronizing signals are generated again at a position delayed by 1/3V period from the time of generation of normal vertical synchronizing signals, and supplied to a television camera 2. Thereby, trapezoidal wave signals and sampling pulse become a phase relation that can be sampled at the time of head switching, and the rotation of a rotary drum 1 can be accurately controlled at once.
