PURPOSE:To readily insert a rotor for a lateral shaft rotary electric machine by securing a guide plate having the same radius of an outer periphery as the rotor to one end of the rotor, hanging it by a winch, and sliding it on a slide plate temporarily provided on the lower surface of the inner periphery of a stator. CONSTITUTION:A guide plate 2 having the same radius of the outer periphery as that of a rotor 1 is secured by a bolt 4 to one end of a rotor 1 formed around a main shaft 3. A slide plate 6 is temporarily provided on the lower half surface of the inner periphery of a stator 5. The rotor 1 is hung by a hook 7 of a winch, drawn to the inside of the stator 5 by a lateral drawing wire 8, and slid on a slide plate 6. Thus, the inserting work of the rotor is facilitated to prevent the rotor from damaging.
