PURPOSE:To prevent developers from deterioration due to the color mixing of developers in a developing device by arranging a destaticizing device for destaticizing a photosensitive body only at the emergency stop of an image forming means in the vicinity of the developing device. CONSTITUTION:When paper jamming or the like is generated in printing, respective image forming means are emergently stopped, a photosensitive body 28 is instantaneously stopped and developing biases applied to respective developing rollers 31a, 34a are also instantaneously turned off. A destaticizing lamp 38 is also simultaneously turned on, and in the vicinity of the developing device 34, the whole surface of the photosensitive body 28 coated with toner is exposed and the surface potential is destaticized to 0V. Even if the developing biases are instantaneously turned off at the emergency stop of the image forming means such as the photosensitive body 28 in said constitution, no electric field is formed between the photosensitive body 28 and a developing roller 34a and toner 32 on the photosensitive body 28 is not filed to the roller 34a side, so that toner mixing in the device 34 can be suppressed. |
