PURPOSE:A gene coding a polypeptide having stimulation factor activity to form a human granulocyte colony is separated and is made to be manifested in a host cell. CONSTITUTION:A DNA necessary for forming human granulocyte cell colony and coding a polypeptide having specific stimulation factor activity is obtained as a 15-17S fraction by sucrose density gradient centrifugation. The DNA has an amino acid sequence of formula. A host cell is transformed with a recombinant vector integrated with said DNA. The objective glycoprotein having human granulocyte colony stimulation factor activity can be separated from the culture product of the obtained transformed strain.
