<p>PURPOSE:To detect the position of a tape at high accuracy by setting the frequency division ratio of a frequency division counter that frequency-divides a pulse generated according to the rotation of a reel and to the measured diameter of the wound tape in phase-synchronization with a control signal recorded on a tape. CONSTITUTION:A measuring means 20 measures at least the diameter of the tape that either one of reels 1 and 2 at supply and winding sides winds. The frequency division counter 22 frequency-divides a pulse generated in accordance with at least one reel. The frequency division counter 22 is reset by a signal from a detection head 24 to detect the control signal recorded on the tape, thereby synchronizing phases. The frequency division ratio of said counter 22 is calculated and set based on the diameter of the wound tape, which an arithmetic means 21 measures. The output of the frequency division counter 22 drives a tape position display 23. Thus the position of the tape can be detected at high accuracy.</p> |
