PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform both-way printing, by allowing an ink ribbon, which is taken up to one direction by an ink ribbon take-up part, to run to directions opposite to each other at positions shifted on the outer peripheral surface of a platen. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 3 passes a guide roller 9 from an ink ribbon feed-out roller 7 and passes the front part of a head 2 to be turned back by a roller 6 and reversed at an F-part in order to turn the ink layer of the ink ribbon 3 to the side of a platen 4 and successively passes the front part of the head 2 and a guide roller 10 to be taken up by an ink ribbon take-up roller 8. The parts (a), (b) pressed to the platen 4 by the head 2 of the ink ribbon 3 are staggered to each other and take a route so as not to be overlapped at the time of printing. An ink ribbon up-and-down operating part 11 moves up and down in the directions shown by arrows Z, Z' according to a printing direction, after the head 2 is separated from the ink ribbon 3, a medium 5 and the platen 4 when the printing direction changes, to select the a-part and b-part of the ink ribbon 3. |
