Process and device for purifying water, using ozone produced from oxygen-rich gas

The water is treated with ozone mixed with oxygen gas and a fraction of the oxygen not absorbed by the water is recirculated to the ozone generation. Before the addition of the ozone, it is brought into solution in a part-stream of the water to be purified from which the dissolved nitrogen has been expelled. The device serving for carrying out the process has an oxidation reactor (22), an ozone-generation apparatus (10), an oxygen source and a recirculation line (11) for oxygen-rich gas connected to the ozone-generation apparatus. The device further has an ozone-enriching absorber (7), and a nitrogen-expelling desorber (4). <IMAGE>
